Club Reinstatement FAQ
-
Why was my club suspended?Back to Top
To remain in good standing, a club must have at least eight (8) paid members, with a minimum of three (3) renewing members from the previous renewal period.
While a club may currently have eight (8) paid members, it can still be suspended if these requirements were not met in the previous renewal term.
A club that had fewer than eight (8) paid members or fewer than three (3) renewing members during the last renewal term is suspended for the current term.

My club is currently suspended or closed. How do I reinstate my club?Back to Top
All clubs that are currently suspended, or that have been closed in the past four renewal periods, have the option to reinstate. Protocol 2.0 outlines the requirements to reinstate and all documentation and payments must be submitted to World Headquarters for processing, as club reinstatements cannot currently be completed online.
Submit the following items to renewals@toastmasters.org:
- Membership applications for 12 members, three (3) of whom were active in the renewal period prior to the club's suspension.
- A valid club officer list. The minimum club officer requirement is: an active president, an active vice president (club choice of education, membership, or public relations), and an active secretary. Each of these three (3) roles must be held by a separate individual.
- Payment for the members. Submit directly to World Headquarters via phone +1 720-439-5050, fax +1 303-799-7753, or wire transfer. For additional assistance, contact renewals@toastmasters.org.

What happens to my club if it does not meet the requirements to remain in good standing?Back to Top
If your club does not meet the October renewal requirement by October 1, or the April renewal requirement by April 1, the status will change from “Active” to “Low” or “Ineligible.”
Clubs not in good standing are ineligible to cast a vote at District Council Meetings, the Annual Business Meeting, and are not included in quorum. Clubs that have been inactive for five (5) renewal periods must be chartered as new clubs and meet all chartering requirements.
Refer to the Club Status Guide to see how each club status affects different features and areas of the Toastmasters program.
