What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
The Region Advisor role is a key leadership position focused on supporting district leaders in achieving success and growth. The Region Advisor serves as a coach, mentor and resource to district leaders helping them strengthen their leadership abilities, improve club quality and grow membership. The Region Advisor acts as a bridge between districts and the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, sharing feedback, updates and insights from the ground level to the global leadership. I have experience leading teams and managing projects, which have equipped me with strong communication, strategic planning and conflict resolution skills which are all crucial for coaching and guiding district leaders. In various leadership roles, I have mentored others, helping them grow professionally and personally and I believe that it aligns well with this role of developing district leaders. Overall, I would say that the Region Advisor role requires a combination of leadership, mentorship, and organizational growth expertise, which matches the skill set that I would bring to the position.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
As a past District Director, I have extensive experience in coaching individuals and teams to success, as coaching is a key component of the Region Advisor role. I helped leaders set goals related to the Distinguished Club Program. Guided how to support clubs in their areas and divisions. Coaching Division and Area Directors to succeed in their roles and prepare them for future district leadership positions, as well as how to work effectively in teams, resolving conflicts and aligning their efforts to district goals.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I am motivated to give back to an organization that has helped me grow and would like to use my experience to support the next generation of Toastmasters. Serving as Region Advisor is a fulfilling experience because it will allow me to support the leadership and growth of a diverse range of clubs and districts. I will have the opportunity to guide and mentor district leaders by helping them develop their leadership skills and achieve success in their respective roles. I will also play an important role by helping districts grow membership and strengthen clubs. Serving as an RA will also allow me to build connections with leaders worldwide while fostering collaboration. This role will offer me another chance to refine my leadership abilities through hands-on experience and exposure to different leadership styles. The RA role is a position that requires commitment, but the rewards of helping others grow and seeing the impact on the districts can be incredibly rewarding.
