What key factors are most important as a Region Advisor to help the District achieve success:

I believe the key areas are to gain the trust of the District leaders and to be available to support them as needed. I recognize that we have a broad range of leaders with varying levels of experience and work styles. I must build relationships with each leader and be adaptable and flexible to effectively work with them individually and with their District teams to best provide the appropriate support and guidance. In addition, I understand that each District has their own culture and as a Region Advisor, I like to promote the sharing of best practices amongst the Districts so all my Districts can consider innovative strategies and tactics to help them perform to the best of their abilities.

What key strengths do you bring to the District leaders?

During my time as a District leader, I learned to listen and think before I speak. I'm also very comfortable to say I do not know if I don't have an answer and assure my fellow toastmaster that I will get one and get back to them as soon as possible. I always share with my District leaders where the answer can be found. Information is power and I want the District leaders to know that as well and be comfortable with finding the information they need.

Why are you interested in serving again as a Region Advisor?

I feel like I am just reaching my stride. Our first year is the year to learn and get to know the District Leaders. The second year is the time to share my experience. I am enjoying my role as a Region Advisor and learning a lot from my peers and District leaders. I feel that I am growing and broadening my skills, especially in the areas of active listening and conflict resolution. My desire is to give back to an organization that has enriched my life by continuing my efforts as a Region Advisor. I want to humbly contribute where I can, to help our Districts effectively achieve their mission. I understand that with diversity comes innovation and I desire to continue to work with Districts in my area of responsibility to provide support as well as communicate strategies and innovations that Districts could consider to achieve success.
