What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
Having served as District leader, I understand the opportunities and challenges in serving. However, it is not my place to run their race. I can share my experiences within my Toastmasters journey, lessons learned from my corporate environment, and offer suggestions, tools, resources and support their choices, but ultimately, they must make their own decisions. I am here to guide, not to drive.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
As District Director, the greatest and the most heartfelt of our achievements was when our District was recognized as Distinguished for the first time since its inception. My mantra for the year was "When You Believe...Incredible Things Happen." The path to achieving this goal was: I acknowledged successes big or small; I scheduled in person meetings to make sure we connected and to keep the momentum high; I made sure we had fun while achieving our goals.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I am interested in serving as a Region Advisor because I want to give back to the leaders. Having served in all the roles (except PRM) I would be supporting, I have developed empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges these new District leaders may face. The experiences and growth I have gained through my Toastmasters journey have significantly impacted my life, and I am eager to share this knowledge helping others achieve their best self.
