What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?

I see that the Region Advisor plays an important role to support Districts in achieving and fulfilling their missions. The Region Advisor role is mostly to support, coach and guide District leaders and assess the performance of the District through the District Recognition Program. These are aligned with my experiences in coaching people to achieve the goals. For instance, in Toastmasters, when I served as District Director, I provided support (advice, guidance, solutions) to Divisions, Areas and clubs with direct communication with leaders and members from guiding the District Success Plan. As a result, they could make a smart plan and achieve their goals. Or outside Toastmasters, when I served as the Director of Special Olympics Indonesia - together with my team, we conducted the roadshow to special of unified schools to promote the inclusive activities between intellectual disability athletes and youth leaders thru sports, dances and other activities.

What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?

Toastmasters has given me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally through several facilities and opportunities, one of them is training/coaching/mentoring program. For the past 17 years as a Toastmaster, I have coached individuals and teams to reach their success. For individuals, it has been my privilege to coach and mentor new members - and proud that several of them managed to conquer their own fear of public speaking by successfully completing the Toastmasters programs, even more they participated in speech contests and was a champion! That is truly my satisfaction to see my mentees succeed. For a team/club, I have experience in handling clubs which are not in a good standing - by providing supports from other clubs to run their club meeting, having joint meetings, conduct club gatherings, and involving the chartered members and mentors to assist the club together - and as a result, the club in progress could sustain and maintain their strength.

Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?

When I served as trio member, I benefited from the importance of a Region Advisor in accomplishing the success of Districts as a Region Advisor works closely with the trio, DPRM, and other DEC members as needed. This act of service truly attracts me - serving, supporting and coaching while at the same time also building the trust. I would like to help other leaders in working together and see the Districts grow.
